BIRMINGHAM – Friday night UAB got a commitment from defensive back Kelvin Hill. Hill is a 5′ 11″ 175 pound athletic player who played a pivotal role in helping Carrolton High School (GA) to an impressive 14-1 record. Hill helped lead the Carrolton Trojans to their first state championship appearance since 2013. Not only is Hill a great defensive back but he also played some at the running back position for the Trojans and is a three sport athlete.

The UAB staff offered Hill back in May. Hill was offered by power five program Boston College in January and also had reported offers from: Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Arkansas State, Liberty, and others.

Kelvin Hill announced his commitment to UAB on Twitter:

UAB’s secondary and special teams coach, Kenneth Gilstrap, has done a great job recruiting so far and is establishing himself a pipeline along I-20. Gillstrap, who is from Ellenwood, Georgia, received another 2024 commit earlier from Naccari Johnson, the 6′ 3″ 180 pound defensive back from Langston Hughes High School (Ga).

With Hill’s commitment, UAB now sits at 5 commitments for the class of 2024:
